Ryan Byrne is a veteran pro bassist and music educator. Having spent 16 years pounding the pavement in the Nashville music scene, Ryan has toured the USA and beyond multiple times opening for or otherwise sharing the stage with a who’s who of country and rock artists such as Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Big & Rich, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Clint Black, Trisha Yearwood, Charlie Daniels, .38 Special, The Marshall Tucker Band, Jackyl, Blackfoot, The Gin Blossoms, and many, many others!
Performance accomplishments aside, we all know that just being a great musician doesn’t automatically make you a great music educator. So that is why we are proud to let you know that Ryan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education, was a tenured music teacher in the New Hampshire Public Schools (Bethlehem Elementary School) where he was awarded with Staff Member of the Year before moving to Nashville to further his performance career. While gigging and learning the ropes in the Nashville music scene, Ryan became a substitute teacher for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, subbing mostly for music teachers at about 14 of Nashville’s 38 middle schools. Since 2014, Ryan has been teaching private music lessons at East Tennessee’s largest independent music school, Knoxville Academy of Music, where he has been one of the most requested instructors!
